FAQ

Do the plans include a phone number?

No. Every plan is data only, with no phone number, calls, or SMS. WhatsApp, Telegram, and other apps work over data, and your home SIM can stay on for texts.

Do I need to turn on data roaming?

Yes, for the eSIM line only. Unitel asks for it to give the best coverage, and there is no extra charge. Keep Data Roaming off on your home SIM so your carrier does not charge you.

When do my plan days start?

When the eSIM first connects to a network in Laos. Installing it at home the day before you fly does not use any days.

When should I install it?

On Wi-Fi, the day before you fly. The days only start when the eSIM connects in Laos, so installing early costs nothing.

Which plan should I pick?

A week or so in Vientiane and Luang Prabang fits 10 days · 10 GB. Two weeks fits 15 days · 15 GB. For a month, pick 30 days · 20 GB, or 30 GB if you use hotspot or video calls a lot.

Can I share data with a hotspot?

Yes. Hotspot is included, so you can share the connection with a laptop or a travel partner.

Can I buy two plans in one order?

Yes. One checkout, one email, and a QR for each eSIM.

Can I top up if I run out?

No. There are no top-ups. When the data or days run out the eSIM stops; buy a new plan and install its QR.

Does it work in Vietnam or Thailand too?

No. This eSIM covers Laos only. For Vietnam, see esimforvietnam.com; other countries are listed at esimfor.asia.

Does my phone support eSIM?

Dial *#06#. If you see an EID number, the phone supports eSIM. It must also be unlocked from your home carrier.

How long is the QR valid?

Install it within 30 days of receiving it. Each QR scans once, so do not delete the eSIM during your trip.

What if the QR never arrives?

The order page keeps it. If the eSIM cannot be issued, our team is alerted and the order is refunded.
